Mexican Adobo Seasoning Mild – Recipe List
What is Mexican Adobo Seasoning?
Coming from the Spanish word ‘adobar’, meaning ‘to marinate’, Adobo Seasoning is a staple in Latin American cuisine with many incarnations. Caribbean Latinos tend to use Adobo as a dry rub or flavour base for cooking soups and stews. In Mexico and The Philippines, it is more commonly used in a thick, spicy sauce with the inclusion of liquid to emulsify it. The Peruvian adaptation of Adobo includes the addition of lemon or lime juice and/or beer in the marinade as opposed to the Mexican way which uses orange juice.
What does Mexican Adobo taste like?
Our version of Adobo is closest to the Mexican recipe with the inclusion of Mexican Ancho Chilli Powder. Its mild taste makes it perfect for the whole family and a great base for a variety of different flavours and proteins.
