What is Moroccan Ras el Hanout’s flavour profile?
Made from a delicate blend of 14 herbs and spices, Ras el Hanout’s flavour is indicative of Moroccan cooking – sweet, spicy, savoury, and fragrant. The sweetness from nutmeg, cassia, sweet paprika, and allspice; Savouriness from sea salt, fennel, caraway, and cumin; Warmth from cayenne, turmeric, galangal, and ginger, and a herby fragrance from coriander. This blend is mild in heat, however, can be made hotter with the addition of some extra Cayenne Pepper or Crushed Chilli Flakes. This blend is ideal for a traditional tagine or simply sprinkled over meat or veg before grilling or roasting. Give this versatile blend a go and get your Moroccan-cooking journey on the road!
