Ingredients

  • Roughly 1 cup The Spice People’s Cloves Whole (more or less depending on the size of your ham)
  • 1 cup coarse brown sugar (more or less depending on the size of your ham)
  • 1/2 cup hot English mustard (more or less depending on the size of your ham)
  • Christmas Ham

Directions

  1. Begin by removing the skin from the ham. This can be easily done by simply scoring deeply with a sharp knife around the base of the ham where the bone is and peeling off carefully. Once removed, gently score the fat in diagonal lines going both ways creating a diamond pattern. Stud the corners of each diamond with a whole clove and set aside while you make the glaze.
  2. Combine the brown sugar and hot mustard in a bowl and mix well. Once it forms a thick paste, spread all over your ham being careful not to dislodge any of the cloves. Place in a preheated 180-degree oven and cook uncovered for one hour or until the ham is warmed through and the top has formed a glazed crust. Remove and rest for at least 10 minutes before craving and serving.
