Ingredients
- 2tbsp The Spice People’s Australian Native BBQ Seasoning
- 4 beef steaks or chicken or lamb, or kangaroo for an even-more-native twist
- 4 large potatoes, cut into chips
- olive oil
Directions
- Heat a barbecue to medium-high.
- Rub your steaks with olive oil and rub with 1tbspn of spice mix, place on a plate covered with plastic wrap and allow to marinate for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, for the chips, coat them in olive oil and 1tbspn of spice mix and layout in a single layer on a lined baking sheet. Place in a preheated 220-degree oven and cook for 25-30 mins or until golden outside and cooked inside.
If you like a more crunchy crust to your chips you can use this method of shake and bake: add 1 tbspn spice mix, 2tbspn of plain flour, cut potato wedges into a plastic bag. Twist the top of the bag closed and shake to coat the potatoes well. Remove potatoes and place them on the baking tray. Drizzle a little olive oil over the potatoes and then place in the oven as above. - One they’re done marinating, place the steaks on the barbecue grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on either side depending on the thickness, for medium rare. Remove and place on a plate allowing to rest. Serve with chips and enjoy!
