The love this recipe

There are few things more Aussie than the classic barbie, and this staple and easy-to-whip-up dish showcase the best of Aussie produce so simply. By using our Australian Native BBQ Seasoning to bring these simple ingredients to life, you inject all the sweet, salty, fragrant umami flavors in one quick hit!

These tender steaks are served alongside golden oven-roasted chips, but would excellent with the addition of a zesty slaw or fresh green salad.

Directions

  1. Heat a barbecue to medium-high.
  2. Rub your steaks with olive oil and rub with 1tbspn of spice mix, place on a plate covered with plastic wrap and allow to marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, for the chips, coat them in olive oil and 1tbspn of spice mix and layout in a single layer on a lined baking sheet. Place in a preheated 220-degree oven and cook for 25-30 mins or until golden outside and cooked inside.
If you like a more crunchy crust to your chips you can use this method of shake and bake: add 1 tbspn spice mix, 2tbspn of plain flour, cut potato wedges into a plastic bag. Twist the top of the bag closed and shake to coat the potatoes well. Remove potatoes and place them on the baking tray. Drizzle a little olive oil over the potatoes and then place in the oven as above.
  4. One they’re done marinating, place the steaks on the barbecue grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on either side depending on the thickness, for medium rare. Remove and place on a plate allowing to rest. Serve with chips and enjoy!
