Description How to Use Ingredients Shipping and Returns

Middle Eastern Za'atar is a delicious spice blend made with sumac, thyme, oregano and sesame seeds. This mixture has a nutty and fresh flavour and aroma and is traditionally used to sprinkle over flatbread that has been brushed with olive oil and lightly toasted. In Australian cuisine, it works well as a Barbecue rub. There are many variation and it is widely used in the Middle East and the Mediterranean in a similar way to how Mixed Herbs are used in European dishes.

Mix with olive oil and spread over flatbread before baking for a traditional zaatar bread.
Sprinkle over hummus, labneh or dips for an authentic finishing touch.
Toss through roasted vegetables such as pumpkin, cauliflower or sweet potato.
Use as a seasoning or rub for chicken, lamb, fish or halloumi before grilling.
Scatter over salads to add texture and a burst of flavour.
Stir into yoghurt to create a quick dressing or marinade.
Sprinkle over avocado toast, eggs or roasted tomatoes for an easy flavour boost.
