Sumac-Spiced Koftes with Creamy Tzatziki

Ingredients
Koftes
500g lamb mince
1 ½ tbsp The Spice People Greek Gyros Seasoning
1 tsp The Spice People Sumac
1 tsp The Spice People oregano
2 garlic cloves, minced
½ red onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp chopped parsley
1 tbsp olive oil
Zest from 1 lemon
Salt and pepper, to taste
Salad
2 cups finely sliced cabbage
½ red onion, thinly sliced
Juice of ½ lemon
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp chopped dill
Salt and pepper
To serve
Homemade tzatziki with sumac
Lemon wedges
Warm pita or flatbreads
Directions
Method:
- Combine lamb mince, Gyros Seasoning, Sumac, Oregano, garlic, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and shape into 8 small koftes.
- Drizzle with olive oil and grill on a BBQ or pan over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through.
- For the salad, toss cabbage, red onion, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper together.
- Serve koftes with the lemon-dill salad, a spoonful of tzatziki, pita, and extra lemon wedges. Sprinkle a little sumac over the top before serving.
