Smoky Sticky Beef Ribs

Ingredients
- 3L water
- 1 tbsp salt
- 4 beef ribs
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 tsp The Spice People’s Smoked Paprika
- 1/2 tsp The Spice People’s Cayenne Pepper
- 1/3 cup Single Malt Whiskey
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 onion, finely diced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 orange, for juice and zest
- 1 The Spice People’s Whole Ancho Chilli, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp The Spice People’s Mustard Powder
- 1 tbsp sea salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Directions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to the boil. Simmer the ribs in the water for 2 hours until soft. Allow the ribs to cool in the water. Preheat an oven to 180°C.
- In a large bowl, combine the barbecue sauce ingredients and stir.
Drain the ribs from the water and place the beef ribs bone side down in a roasting tray. Pour the sauce over the ribs and roast in the oven for 1 hour.
